A university student in south has been hailed a hero after she jumped in front of her classmate to protect her when a knife-yielding man attacked them.
Cui Yiwen, 20, and her friend, Liang Yuying, 19, were returning to their college dormitory after class at Guilin University of Electronic Technology in Guangxi on March 10 when a man suddenly lunged at them and slashed Liang with a knife. 
Realising her friend was the intended target, Cui immediately stepped in and used her body to shield her from the blows, resulting in her being stabbed eight times.
