Dr. Alessia Paccagnini is currently a tenured Lecturer/Assistant Professor at the University College Dublin School of Business. Previously, she was Lecturer at the School of Economics at the University College Dublin, Assistant Professor at the University of Milan - Bicocca, and Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute.

She earned her Ph.D. in Economics and Econometrics from Bocconi University. During her career, she has been a research visitor at the European Central Bank, University of Pennsylvania, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Bank of England, National Bank of Poland, and visiting professor at IMT Lucca and Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.

Her research includes Time Series Analysis, Forecasting, Factor Models, Classical and Bayesian Econometrics, Applied Macroeconomics, DSGE Model Estimation, and Monetary Policy. She is also a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) in the Model Uncertainty and Macro-Econometrics and COVID19 and Macroeconomics Programs. Her work has been published in internationally prestigious journals such as Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Economics Letters, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Economic Dynamics, and Control, and Journal of Financial Stability among others. She is a regular speaker at international conferences and workshops as well as an invited speaker in seminar series. She contributes to the profession by serving as a referee for top journals in Econometrics, Economics, and Finance. Alessia is a regular speaker at international conferences and workshops as well as an invited speaker in seminar series and her Google H-Index is 12 (November 2021). Alessia is currently editor of the open-access international peer-review journal, Forecasting. Alessia is among the top 5% female economists and the top 8% economists all around the world considering the last 10 years of publications. She is also a member of the Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance - Towards a transparent financial industry COST Action project.

Dr. Alessia Paccagnini has taught a variety of courses in Econometrics, Applied Econometrics, Financial Econometrics, and Macroeconomics to both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Bocconi University, Catholic University in Milan, University of Varese - Insubria, University of Milan - Bicocca, IMT Lucca, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, and University College Dublin. She currently teaches Financial Econometrics for Master students at Smurfit Business Graduate School and Econometrics of Financial Markets for bachelor students in Economics & Finance. Alessia has just received the UCD College of Business Teaching Award UCD for courses taught during the 2019/2020 Academic year.

At Univesity College Dublin, Dr. Alessia Paccagnini is also the Academic Director of the Master in Quantitative Finance and Co-Chair at the executive committee at UCD Women@STEM, member of the Healthy UCD and of the College of Business Intercultural Forum.
