Wonderful Journey To Ciqikou Old Town

A long old flagstone street, thousands-year-old Ciqikou.

Ciqikou is located on the foot of Mount Gele, bank of Jialing River and was first built in Song Dynasty.
It is the best preserved Ming and Qing style buildings in Chongqing. No matter what kind of transportation you choose (by bus or by boat), you can easily and quickly get to this quiet land. Before entering the town, you will be first impressed by the large honorific arch style gate.



It not only includes the main old street, but also has Baolun Temple, Wenchang Palace and Bayu style residences. The featured Ming Qing style buildings make you learn something about ancient architectures. Baolun Temple is one of Ciqikou's only remaining temples.
Its main building is more than 1000 years old. Citong Road is the main road in the town. The green trees and kynghidongduong.vn ancient building on both sides make this road is very exquisite.

Take bus 503 (40 minutes) from Chaotianmen. It stops at Caiyuanba bus station, from where you can also catch bus 808.

Bus 215 meanders here from the Liberation Monument. A taxi costs you about 30rmb.

You can also choose to see the classroom where physics Nobel Prize Winner Samuel CC Ting studied when he was a child. Its original looks was recreated with a picture of Sun Yat-Sen on the wall.
